Cort said, "NO WAY. Get that green stuff outta here". Reid, who eats anything, said, "Mmm, tasty"
Huh. Turned out he liked it.
Uh oh. He really likes it. And we don't have a Trader Joes anywhere close - it's a 3 hour drive!
I really didn't want to share all of my roasted seaweed.
The only drawback is that it does tend to get stuck in your teeth in funny ways...
Do you have a snack that you love that's a little bit off the beaten path of normal?

I'll pass on the seaweed but your boys are adorable!
ReplyDeleteick! don't like the fishiness of seaweed! so unless they roast it out of there, i won't raid your stash...
ReplyDeleteno odd snacks here. at least none i can think of off-hand.
Okay, I'm officially going to start worrying about you! Haha! That just looks nasty, Lisa. I think I'll pass.
ReplyDeleteOh, and Oreo has 100 calorie packs. Just sayin... :)
It is really good!
ReplyDeleteWhole Foods has it, too..but ugh what a drive for us.
The boys are beyond adorable.
What cute picts! Especially that last one!
ReplyDeleteWe have a Trader Joe's near John's Dr. in Atlanta about an hour away. I love to walk thru and browse at all the good stuff! I have not tried this yet. The boys' expressions are priceless!
ReplyDeleteWe love these too! I can barely get them in the house before several packs are gone.
ReplyDeleteit looks good to me. it reminds me of the seaweed they wrap around chinese crackers.
ReplyDeletei want to try it.
send some to me. but not the one that cort spit out. i want a new piece.
I've had other interesting things from Trader Joe's-but never their roasted seaweed. I've had their chocolate covered raspberry bit things. Those are very good too.
ReplyDeleteA certain husband in this house-I won't name names, likes to eat a piece of cheddar cheese covered with peanut butter for a snack.
I've never tried that either...but he swears it's really good!
I was good up until the "stuck in your teeth" part. We like Tofu on rice cakes and people are pretty weirded out by that.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I love that Reid enjoyed them, too! Cort has that "You must be JOKING!" look on his face!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I would try those things, just to see what they taste like. I mean, I eat sushi with the non-roasted "fresh" stuff, right? But we don't have a TJs near us, either. The closest one just opened up near my parents (about 130 miles away).
I love the pictures. We don't have any crazy snacks, but I've been meaning to try a couple things--roasted Kale and roasted chick peas. I'm a little skeptical of both, but I hear they are tasty. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sad we don't have Trader Joes.
I'm not surprised at all that Reid likes the seaweed. No matter how it tastes, it's got to be better than the poisonous items he favors!! Our nearest Trader Joes is in Short Pump, about an hour and ten minutes away. Is that the one you are referring to? I just got back from there last night. How did you get the seaweed? The last picture is a scream!
ReplyDeleteReally? Roasted seaweed? I think I'd give it a taste.
ReplyDeleteI think I would tend to agree with Cort. Yuk. Although I really shouldn't say that since I've never tried roasted seawood. How's about I just take Cort's word for it!?
ReplyDeleteI don't really have any strange snacks. But I do love Emerald Cinnamon Roast almonds. Yum.
Thanks agin for stopping by my blog, and those pictures are something else, lol. Richard
ReplyDeleteSo cute and I bet it is good...
ReplyDeleteOh girl! Didn't your momma ever feed you some real food? Oh, and is that what you are trying to grow in your swimming pool? Whew! I'm on a roll! Rolling on the floor laughing out loud!
ReplyDeleteHave a Great Day!
Angela
So tell me this - just what does it taste like - exactly???
ReplyDeletelol I like that last pic! I would like to try this as I do like different types of snacks. I like beet chips. Very yummy.
ReplyDeleteOff the beaten path? That's WAY off the path! The boys are too cute!
ReplyDeleteWell if those little guys say it's good, then it must taste OK.
ReplyDeleteA favorite snack I like is Stergings Potato chips. But I can only get them when I go back to Iowa.
Mmmmmm it looks to green for me. rubbery. Seaweed~! are you desparate? There is suppose to be good vitamins in that green stuff.. I'll just take a vitamin pill.
ReplyDeleteYour boys look like they are enjoying the green seaweed.. Good for them~!
Have a Tiggeriffic Day~! ta ta for now from Iowa:)
Oh that is so cute! Better get that boy eating sushi! Seaweed if definitely better than A and D ointment!
ReplyDeletePS- Thank you for being my 400th follower!!! I think this calls for a special prize!!! Better send me your mailing address. I've got a Trader Joes' not far from me and I'm pickin' up some seaweed snacks. :-)
ReplyDeleteHmmmm I'll have to try those. We just got a Trader Joes in the town right next to me... only maybe 15 -20 minutes away YAY!!! :)
ReplyDeleteGosh, they are getting so big, How is it I feel like I know them when I've only just met you IRL? ;)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds pretty good. It kind of looks like a fruit rollup. I'll have to try that. I wonder if you can buy it online :)
ReplyDeleteHaha!! Funny! I have NEVER heard of that before! Love the pictures...too cute!
ReplyDeleteGravlax. It's a salmon dish thing. Thankfully I live in the Pacific Northwest so I have lots of fresh salmon .. and the whole chef thing - some pretty good gravlax recipes.
ReplyDeleteI also like roasted chard. Throw on a little seasoning and they're better than chips - love em!
We have tons of seaweed all over here, but I can't say I like it.
Cute rascals you got there! No weird snacks for me...I'm not the most adventurous eater ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures!! So funny. Carol
