Living in a house with 4 males can have some disadvantages. You wouldn't believe how quickly a pan of brownies can disappear. Just when I was counting on one, of course. All I have to say is...this last pear? It has my name on it.
A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do - at least if she wants to eat in this house!
Readers, have you ever stooped to writing your name on your food?
Can't say that I have -- lol! :)
ReplyDeleteToo funny and I feel your pain!! The problem is that my oldest would eat it anyway. Boys!
ReplyDeleteOh Lisa you are very clever you had me laughing this morning I hope it is still there:) B
ReplyDeletei'm thinking of a marker on those brownies... poor you. silly men. ( :
ReplyDeleteNo, I haven't named my food, but I have brought the entire container of cookies to work so they disappear slower. Sent this husband of mine in a tizzy looking for them. :)
ReplyDeleteYes! I have exactly the same problem! It seems like if I make snacks for the week they are gone in 2 days...Great idea on the name writing!
ReplyDeleteHahhahahha.. that is so funny. There is only my Hubs and myself. He doesn't care for my food so much so it is safe.
ReplyDeleteThings disappear here too. This is great idea!
ReplyDeleteYea I have but with a hungery 12 year old it doesn't work
ReplyDeleteI haven't put my name on it, but I've written specifically DO NOT EAT THIS!
ReplyDeleteAre you going to peel that pear? lol
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Lisa - I have to do that with my almonds - I buy a big bag - and I now have to divide them into to two bags and label them Rock and Sandie - because when I went for some nuts they were all gone - now I think he sneaks a little into my bag! lol
ReplyDeletesandie
That is so funny! No, I haven't written my name on any food, thanks for the idea! :)
ReplyDeleteHa you are thinking now. It is just as bad living with 2 girls though, I haven't resorted to putting my name on things yet.
ReplyDeleteLOL... good remedy!
ReplyDeleteBut can the twins read your name yet? :-)
ReplyDeleteI have to confess that I'm the one in the house that usually eats the "last one." Or that's what Larry says. He says he never gets enough cheese or Diet Pepsis because I get them first.
I haven't had to do that....yet. But, my son devours 4 clementines at a time, so things like that don't last long around here.
ReplyDeleteIn this house of girls - I have a crisper drawer with a sign taped on it that says "Moms food". Yes - I am that kind of mom.
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny. I can't recall ever having written my name on food, but this is awesome. I'll have to remember it!
ReplyDeleteHaha! NO..but I should. I usually take a bite out of something I want..then no one touches it. That way it sits and waits for me until I really want it;)
ReplyDeleteYes, especially on take out container's, otherwise my grown son will wipe it out every time! Lol... you made me smile!
ReplyDeletelaughing out loud!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a really cool idea!!!! And kind of funny, too! Hey, you have the same basket as I do, only mine is many colors, not just one. I think I like yours better. Where did you get it? Now I am turning this from a pear post into a basket one.
ReplyDeleteNo--they'd ignore it anyway. So I hide it.
ReplyDeleteThis is priceless, Lisa! A few women at work told me to hide "my treats" in the vegie drawer...that their kids never look in there. But you eat so healthy at your house, I think your way is best!
ReplyDeleteLOL!!
ReplyDeleteI made some brownies the other day for the girl to take home; there wasn't enough to take. :)
Too funny! I usually just hide things from my husband. He doesn't rummage around in the kitchen too much haha. Of course when I worked at Best Buy in college I wrote my name on my food all the time. There were some sneaky food thieves there!
ReplyDeletePoor Girlie, She is so neglected.... Has to 'mark' her food ---but my question is: Does that REALLY keep them out of it????? ha ha
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
I'm starting to experience that since my uncle moved in with us. It's three males and me. Brownies don't last at all and hubby usually gets most and my son eats all the cookies! I set some things that I set aside in a special place for me. :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the pear!
I have definitely written on my food, not so often since I got married & had kids though. My hubs doens't really like the things I do & my girls are still small enough that I can hide stuff & they don't catch on, but when I was younger or had roomates HECK YEAH it's every girl for herself! LOL
ReplyDeletei like your idea!
ReplyDeletelove
tweedles
When one of my kids was a teenager I locked most of my food in my bedroom!
ReplyDeleteI hear ya! Mica eats and eats. Sometimes he forgets he ate dinner and asks, "When are we going to eat?" I'm like, "We already ate son."
ReplyDeleteFunny :) I have stored things in my underwear drawer because I knew I would be able to find them, but never food.
ReplyDeleteOh my that must be really tough ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious! I just hide my food in my closet!
ReplyDeleteYes. And I might have been known to lick that last cookie ;)
ReplyDeleteYour blog made me laugh!!
