I received 3 Lone Ranger dvds for review purposes. The opinions written below are my own.
When I think of the Lone Ranger, I think of my Mom. She has frequently talked about how much she loved watching the show when she was a kid, after she got home from school. I thought a set of Lone Ranger dvds would make a wonderful father's day gift for Paul this year. He often gets a hankering to watch westerns, and we didn't have any Lone Ranger.
Sure enough, on Sunday morning when I headed out early to do my long run, Paul snuggled up on the couch with the boys to watch The Lone Ranger. The boys loved it! They said they liked that the Lone Ranger pretended to be a bad guy in one episode, but was really a good guy. And of course they loved his mask. Plus, you can't beat that the Lone Ranger is a classic symbol for truth and justice.
The Lone Ranger: Hi Ho Silver Away, The Lone Ranger Kemo Sabe, and The Lone Ranger Who Was that Masked Man are now available on dvd. These 3 dvds are up for grabs in my giveaway to one lucky winner! Just click on the Rafflecopter below.
Also, for the truest of Lone Ranger fans, there is a special collector's edition that includes all 5 seasons (221 episodes on 30 dvds) plus an episode guide and more. The collector's edition retails for $199.99.
Readers, are there any classic television shows that you love to watch?

What a great Father's Day gift, no wonder he loved it!
ReplyDeleteOh man! Being a kid in the '50's meant rushing home from school and madly tearing through your homework so you could watch Cowboy Theater at 4:00. Lone Ranger was the best! My sister and I watched wearing black masks our mama made, cap pistols in hand....Hi-Ho-Silver, Awaaaaaaaaay!!
ReplyDeleteWhen we were kids we watched Gilligans Island :)
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy " I Love Lucy"! This is one my girls will watch too.
Oh I used to love the Lone Ranger sitting on the floor of my living room surrounded by annoying little brothers who wanted to be him. Oh I miss that. Great gift idea. I can see masks being wornby the boys in your near future, oh yes I remember that too:). B
ReplyDeleteLove the Lone Ranger ! My dad has meet him before ( along time ago ) that was a great gift ! Have a wonderful day
ReplyDeleteWhat a great Father's Day Gift. I'd enter your giveaway, but since our TV is permanently locked on to the Westerns Channel, I'll let someone else reap the rewards of old-time westerns. xo
ReplyDeleteMe! I loved these when I was a kid! Oh well I'd let the family watch them too. ;)
ReplyDeleteThere is an XM radio station that plays old radio shows. I listened to The Lone Ranger during our latest trip to TX. :-)

A couple of your boys really look like your husband. I don't think I've ever seen him before. You have a great looking family.
As a kid, I used to watch the weekly series. Was it Clayton Moore who was the ranger? It was a half hour weekly show in black and white. Have you seen the previews of the NEW Lone Ranger movie? It really looks awesome, and Johnny Depp is Tonto!
ReplyDeleteSo cute that all the boys watched it together! I have happy memories of watching I Love Lucy with my grandma when I spent the night with her as a kid :)
ReplyDeleteMy Hubs watches all those old shows. Geeze... He would love these.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect gift!

ReplyDeleteLoved it. Classic hero. As my grandmother would have said.. 'they don't make 'em like him anymore.'. :)
ReplyDeleteMy husband would love these. He watches the Western Channel a LOT. It's a rare day that he doesn't watch Gunsmoke or Bonanza.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great idea for a gift! I'm glad all your boys (all 4) enjoyed them!
My husband would love to watch the Lone Ranger. I have forgotten how much he likes movies like that.
ReplyDeleteThe story is told that, when the Lone Ranger retired, he went to live at the "Home for Aging Cowboy Heroes."
ReplyDeleteamong other things, they had a pretty good library there, and the Ranger was a frequent borrower.
One day he found a book Indian Sayings. He flipped through the pages eagerly, looking for Kemo Sabe — which he found meant . . . "horses ass."
Blessings and Bear hugs, nonetheless!
