A Day in Chicago

From our campground we caught a commuter train into Chicago for a few hours.  We grabbed lunch and walked around quite a bit, taking in the sights.

I liked seeing all the architecture.  It was a hot day, but some smoothies kept us from getting overheated.  The boys took some more pictures with their 'where in the world' gnomes.

I've always enjoyed seeing different cities.  This was my second time walking around Chicago.

By the time we'd walked around for several hours, the twins were so worn out they fell asleep waiting for the train.  Cort slept the whole train ride back to our campground.
What a day!  Readers, do you like visiting big cities?

  2. The boys look worn out.
I haven't been to a city since the 90s. No Roanoke isn't a city. There is a joke "If you think Roanoke is a city, you might be a redneck".

  4. The pictures are awesome Lisa! We LOVE Chicago - it is definitely our favorite city to visit! I do like going to big cities occasionally but my favorite trip would be to the mountains where there isn't heavy traffic, honking horns and a million people :)

  13. I'm not much of a traveler, but I do enjoy seeing others' photos. I love the architecture you have shared. Sweet, tired babies. I know they had a full day of sightseeing.

  14. I used to love big cities-I even lived in Seattle once. I still like to visit, but the allure isn't the same-and big cities tend to overwhelm me. I'm more small town now;)

Chicago looks beautiful by the way. Those old buildings are cool!

  17. WOW, those big skyscrapers are right on the river! What a sweet picture of the two boys asleep! I always wonder how little kids can sleep with their necks all bent over in cars. I LOVE seeing new places, but do not travel well.

  20. We like living in the suburbs of Chicago--we can access all the fun things in the city, but then we can escape to the burbs for a quieter life. My husband takes the train into the city to work and loves it.

I'm glad you enjoyed our fair city.
