The boys received several different rewards for completing the reading program at with the library this summer, but by far the most coveted prizes were the tickets to Splash Valley, a small waterpark attached to a fitness center.
We went on a seasonal day in late July, when temps were in the mid 80s and the sun was bright. It was the perfect day for a water park.
They weren't big enough for the 'big kid' water slides yet, but they enjoyed doing the small kids area. They were often surprised when they would walk by something, like these dragons, only to be sprayed with water.
They also found plenty of fountains for stomping.
It was a very fun day, and their only complaint was that the water was too cold. They had to keep getting out to try to warm up in the sun.
Cold water is no fun -- love those colorful dragons. :)
ReplyDeletePriceless photos. Love your son looking up at the dragon. What a great treat those tickets were!
ReplyDeleteA perfect summer activity, sounds like they will be ahead of the other kids in reading!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great place to have summer fun. I remember taking my niece/nephew to a water park one July day and it ended up being cloudy/cool. We all were freezing IN JULY!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat place. I'll have to remember that for my granddaughters.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a wonderful place to play. We had a great time at a water play area near us.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the perfect day for water park adventures. Cute kids!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! The boys look adorable (as always). I'm so glad they had the opportunity. ;)
ReplyDeleteOur city has some fun free public splash parks in our area, but mostly what I miss is access to a real swimming pool.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the boys all had fun on your trip!

Looks like a fun day for kids. The closest water park to us is 2.5 hours away and attached to a motel. They charge 17 for a day of it. Our kids love it. However, with the hurt wrist most water activities have been out since July.
ReplyDeleteso cute. i like the water dragons!
ReplyDeleteOh how fun! And they will always remember that day fondly too! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of fun! The photos are great. Love those dragons.
ReplyDeleteWonder why, at least when we're kids, we want to splash the water with our feet? Even mud puddles? :-)
That sure looks like fun. When my kids were that age, there were not any water parks, at least none I ever heard of. We used to go to a family cabin down at Manatee county, Florida and let them play on the beach. I guess that's the closest we ever came to a water park.
ReplyDeleteHahaha... great pictures. The weather is sure getting colder here. Miss those warm days already.
ReplyDeleteThat looks fun! What a great reward for them.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like SO much fun! Did you get in the adult part? They look just ecstatic! I love those dragons all lined up.
ReplyDeleteDang that cold water! That was a great prize though.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great water park!
ReplyDeleteNow that is a great reward!
ReplyDeleteThese are great pictures, they sure look like they had a good time!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I just love the dragons! I bet my grandchildren would have love to play under the dragons. I know your boys must have had a blast. Water parks are such fun for the whole family.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a fun place to me.
ReplyDeleteYour kids are so photogenic!
ReplyDeleteLooking lot enjoyable the water park.

Nothing better than getting wet on a hot day. In florida, the water is NEVER too cold. Such cute faces.
