Running 2014

I haven't blogged about running much this year, but that certainly isn't for lack of running.  Granted, I didn't do any races.  But I ran significantly more miles this year than I have ever run before.  1434 miles!

It hasn't always been easy to fit in runs.  Sometimes a little like trying to run on a floating log on water, trying to fit in a run.  But somehow I managed to make it work.

Picture taken at the Roanoke GoFest last October.

I didn't run super fast.  Sometimes I missed runs, usually due to sick kids or conflict with work.  But in the end, I'm excited to have beat my previous yearly running total by well over 100 miles.

For 2015, I don't have any particular running goals.  It seems I'm at a point, where my running goal is simply this:  RUN.

What about you, readers?  Any goals for 2015?

Happy New Year!

  1. I envy you being able to run. I can barely walk any more and when I can do that, I feel blessed. Happy New Year and my goal is just to 'keep on keeping on!'

  2. Congrats! My goal exercise wise for 2015 is to double my cycling mileage from this year. That would get me around 4340mi depending on if I ride in the freezing weather today or not.

  6. My goal is to survive 2015. Also maybe to find an MP-40 on auction and finally be the successful bidder. It's really the last gun I want I don't have.

  12. Get my mandatory 6 credits so I can keep my teaching license, finish editing my YA novel, exercise more so I can stay strong (my weight is fine--but FEELING energetic, that's another story) and take my kids on a few adventures. Those are my 2015 goals.

  13. LOL, my goal is to not run, but I do get my exercise shoving loaded wheelbarrows around so I'm not a couch potato by a long shot. I would really like to get a full time job as part time isn't making it. Hope to make lots of beer this year and raise a good crop of hops.
    Have a good new year!

  14. If I could run like YOU, I would be bragging about it ALL THE TIME. I would probably have a blog dedicated just to my running! I am glad you have kept up with it. My goal for the coming year is just to keep this 80 pounds OFF, and maybe lose a little more, maybe 10 or 20 more pounds. Wishing you all an awesome New Year, and plenty more blog posts for us to enjoy, all about your escapades and the boys.

  18. Congrats! I can't run, play tennis or anything active like that. I'm looking at recumbent bikes now. :) I will start walking as soon as it warms up a bit. :)
Happy New Year's to you & yours!

  19. Wow! Congratulations on your running mileage! I tried running a little last year, but walking seems to be more of my thing. I never tracked the miles; for me, success is being able to take a walk at least four times per week. Of course, I would prefer if I could get a walk in everyday! I just love being outdoors. Happy 2015! May your new year be filled with "running!" :)

  20. Healthier eating and living.. just that. And I think your goal is perfect.. just run. Creates less stress when we don't set a table that we -must- follow.

  25. Yes, making new decisions including where to relocate. But I must say, I don't know how you handle all that you do! That takes talent, determination and focus!
