Five Favorite Podcasts

Here is a picture of Pierce with our foster dog, Ramona.  She and her puppies are doing very well, and will be available for adoption in about two weeks.  The boys have been a huge help in their care and socialization.

It's Random Friday, so I am listing 5 podcasts that I have enjoyed listening to when I run:

1.  Serial Podcast.  You have to start at the first episode, because each episode builds on the last.  This is a fantastic and true murder story.  It is story telling at it's best.  I can't wait until the second Serial comes out.

2.  The Brain Podcast.  It is kind of technical (neuroscience), but very interesting, and I have been listening to these for years.

3.  The Jillian Michaels Show.  I liked her show better when Janice was on it, but they had some sort of falling out in February.  The replacement hosts aren't as funny.  But the show still makes me laugh, and has good tidbits about exercise and fitness.

4.  Defected in the House.  European dance music.  If you went to a club in Ibiza at 2 am, this is what you might hear.

5.  Survivalist Prepper Podcast - Where Preparing is Surviving.  What can I say?  There's great information here for being self-sufficient, even if you aren't a prepper.  It's not all doomsday or anything like that - but it has a lot of tips on a variety of subjects.

Readers, got any podcasts to recommend to me?

  7. This is a great picture! I was just telling Phil about your puppies. Well, I have an iPad, and a Smart Phone, and this computer. But for the life of me I cannot figure out what pods or podcasts are! Anne Marie has one, too. SO, it makes me feel OLD.

  11. We tried podcasts (on our iTunes) several years ago--but nothing ever caught on. I am not much to listening to programs or books/articles on tape/iPods, etc---since I'm such a music lover... When we walk/hike, we have music on our iPods.

We've been gone this week--hiking and searching for waterfalls. SO much fun!

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  14. Ramona is so cute and I bet those puppies are adorable.

So what on earth is a Podcast?
I'm guessing it's something you listen too like on a radio or your phone. I think the Serial one sounds interesting and I might enjoy the music one as well the others...not so much.

  19. Hmmm...I never listen to podcasts. I guess I need to investigate this. I like the prepper one--one can never be too ready for...uh...whatever.

I laughed when I came to the Ibiza bar music...my daughter just happens to be in Ibiza this weekend as her last vacation before she comes home from studying abroad this semester. I imagine she is listening to this music.

  20. Ramona is adorable! So is Pierce, but maybe he is getting too sophisticated for words like that.

  21. I actually have podcasts for reading assignments in my illustration class. My books kept going out of print - as many illustration books do. I found a site that interviews illustrators. I downloaded many of them. Then I made worksheets that go with them. Whenever I hear complaining about them I say, "Would you rather I make you purchase an expensive book, or have free podcasts?" They shut up.

  22. I am no sure what a podcast is, though I have heard the term before. I listen to shortwave, perhaps it's similar.
