We have oodles of wineberries that grow on our land. They are like raspberries. I've made all sorts of things with them, but am always trying to come up with new things. This year Paul has turned over all the berries to me (usually he reserves some for making wine...imagine that!). I decided to try a pie.
Wineberry Pie
Ingredients:
1/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 cup water
1 (3 oz.) package strawberry gelatin
4 cups wineberries
1 graham cracker crust
Combine sugar, cornstarch, and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Cook and stir two minutes until thick. Remove from heat and stir in gelatin. Cool for 15 minutes. Place raspberries in graham crust. Pour gelatin mixture over berries. Smush berries down slightly. Chill for 3 hours or until set.
Readers, have you ever tried wineberries?

I've never tried wineberries, no... but I think I'm going to have to. This pie looks delicious!
Wow so yummy! I like to try your recipe. But I would to use another fruit, cause we couldn't find berries like yours. Thanks for sharing.
I have never even heard of wineberries! It looks like a delicious pie though, and would probably work well with the black raspberries that are growing around my house.
Looks yummy! I have never heard of wine berries!
Looks delicious! never even heard of a wineberry before let alone tasted one.
Yummy! This is the kind of pie I cannot make..same goes for jelly..I don't have the "touch" I guess. Looks like I missed a post- I wish my grands could visit a place like that..I would enjoy learning about the sea turtles myself.
Interesting idea, I bet it's quite tasty!
I make a syrup with bramble fruits and strain it since there are a lot of seeds. I like it on poached pears, over crepes or even pancakes.
No wine berries here, but that looks SO good! :)

I have never heard of wineberries, but the pie sure looks good.
I bet that was a big hit!
That's a new one for me but sure looks good. We make pies from "black caps. A black looking raspberry, a bit seedy, but flavor beyond description...:)
Wait--wineberries are a thing, too?
Too cool.
looks good!

Oh, I just saw a hiking blogger mention wineberries. I was not familiar with them. Pie sounds good.
My son just mentioned a week ago that he misses our Japanese wineberries that we grew in The Netherlands. They look like little beaded jewels to me. Any idea where I can purchase a plant? Linda@Wetcreek Blog
Yummy!!! I have such a sweet tooth.
That looks delicious!
This is the first time I've actually heard of wineberries. They sound good!
Never had them, but that looks delicious! Don't you love summer berry season for pies and desert?
I haven't, but if they were sitting in front of me in that pie you made, I'd definitely be the first one to grab a fork.
The pie looks absolutely droolworthy... I have never seen/tasted wineberries ever...
I haven't had any, but I want some now. Nom Nom!
I was looking for a recipe for wineberry pie because we have tons of these that grow around my farm every year. I absolutely love strawberry jello so I decided to give it a try. I followed the recipe and it turned out delicious! Wish I could share my video of it. Thank you so much!
Actually, the one thing I did differently was that I used a frozen pie crust. I like those better than the graham cracker ones.
