I love being on the beach. The ocean is so soothing. If I ever won the lottery, a simple beach house would be on my short list (after paying off the mortgage and building a barn).
In case you are wondering, Cort has psoriasis, and brief doses of sun are healing.
These pictures were taking back in June, but I am just now getting around to posting them.

We had races on the beach. We did leaps and twirls and cartwheels in the sand.
We hunted for shark teeth and fossils and shells.
We rolled in the waves, but not too deep, because of the shark issue.
Some of us even tasted the water.
Not everyone was a wuss about the sharks. But we only watched the surfers from a distance.
Cort just loved finding these fossil rocks. He devoted large amounts of time to finding them strewn along the beach.
And we had absolutely splendid kite flying weather, every day that we were there.
The beach makes us happy.
Readers, what do you love about the beach?

I love to explore, but would be riding that wave a bit.I have a great big jar of shells in my office and look at them and can only imagine the roar of the waves.
I love the beach, too. We're headed to the shore of Lake Michigan on Thursday for the same kind of fun, though without any threat of sharks there!
as a kid the parents, bro & i would always be at the beach. i always forgot to close my mouth, so a mouth full of beach/ocean water. no fun. yuck!! ha. ha! ( :
i would prefer a mtn house. you enjoy your beach house. well, in your dreams until it happens. have a nice week.
your kids had a ball i bet. great shots. for the mantle and all. on the frig too.
It's such a nice place. The beach at sunrise and sunset makes you glad to be alive.
How wonderful! There's not anything that makes me happier than seeing those smiling faces. They had a great time, I can tell! The beach is truly healing for a lot of things; mind, spirit, body. :)
I'm sorry that Cort has psoriasis. Mom had it everywhere for a long time; head feet hands. She finally got a dr who told her to take
large amounts of Vitamin E, and it worked. :)
xoxo
Looks like the boys had a great time! Enjoyed all the photos. The beach is calming. We are actually working on planning a beach trip right now.
I am not a beach person in any way, but happy that you and your family enjoy. My son has psoriasis also, and know the sun is a big help. Loved your pictures and the fun the boys had.
what beach are you at? It doesn't look crowded, nice. Kyle loved the beach when he was young and I have a lot of sea shells to prove it! he also like collecting rocks! I have a lot of rocks too. lol he loved visiting Rock City! I have have large rocks from the GA mountains that now live here in NC. lol
all of your boys are so cute, but I've got to tell you that Cort is going to break hearts. :)
Darn sharks. :( I'm glad you still got to enjoy the beach and the water regardless.
How fun! My kids have never been to the beach. I love that picture of Cort with the fossil rocks!
Beaches are blissful, and you have reminded me that is has been way toooooo long since I was last on one.
I love the smell of the air, the sound of the ocean, the rock pools, the sand - the whole experience.
Glad to hear you practised safety first. Those are a beautiful trio of boys and getting more handsome all the time!! I'm not a beach person, but if I had to pick something it would be watching the waves roll in.
Those are great pictures. I love the one of the three boys in the water the best. :)
We like to go to the beach here too. I like everything about it.
Looks like they had a great time!
You and Paul pick the best activities and pleasant places to visit. It's always fun to see how creative you guys are with the boys and they seem to love learning about new things! Fun! :)
BEAUTIFUL pictures!!! We're going to the beach in a week and a half. I can't wait!!!
We love all your beach photos,
We love the smell,, the taste of the salt,, the storms, the rumbling of the ocean,, the racing of the tides, the wind, the wide open world that we can see,,, and knowing its home to so many animals.

the kids sure had fun there
Kids are having nice time in the beach. My kid also used to enjoy well in beach. He doesn't like to come out of it and to return home....
awe! happy beach photos. I have struggles with psoriasis as well, but a specific kind called "guttate psoriasis," The sun & the salt water have been very helpful over the years, unfortunately humidity and mold seem to bring it out and well Virginia...
Hi Lisa, Thanks for dropping by last week. It's nice to catch up with you and the family. These are awesome pics of the boys enjoying the beach. Living in GA,we visited Panama City for summer vacations growing up. I always loved walking along the beach looking for shells.
That's what I have always said. If I win the lottery I'm buying a beach house
so you asked in a comment you left on my blog so... hopefully it isn't unwelcome: what has worked best for me is sun and keeping humidity at bay (huge) {I cannot freaking stand to be wet - I have to dry my hair and get out of wet clothes and stay as dry as possible. And I love to be outside but the second I come in I'm looking for clothes that aren't sweaty because Virginia is just so muggy all the time. We have a dehumidfier running all the time. Anything to reduce the humidity helps me.} and keeping away from mold. Best external medication was tar based. Nothing I took internally worked and when I was on them they were experimental so they had to keep tabs on my liver. Sounds weird but diaper cream offered some relief. In my 20's Dovonex came out - that actual works. But I don't know it's safety rating for kids. In my late 30's I got strep pretty bad the psoriasis flared so bad there wasn't any normal skin on my body anyplace and they put me on a crazy round of antibiotics because guttate psoriasis is thought to have to do with strep (did your son have strep at some point?) and they thought maybe I hadn't kicked it yet. That actually worked really well. And I haven't had a big flair since then. In High School they had me on erythromycin for years. I don't recommend it. About 2 years ago I took a 3 month vegan challenge with my husband and I noticed a HUGE difference- it was virtually gone. Vegan is a lot to ask of a little guy, but try limiting dairy as much as possible and also limiting sugar. Psoriasis in general is related to Candida (which is yeast) and yeast loves sugar. It is a frustrating thing, but hopefully you can keep it enough under control that it is just a nuisance and not too big a part of his life.
How fun for the five of you. Love the photos of the boys enjoying one of the most beautiful aspects of our world; the ocean.
I just love the sound of the waves coming and going; so soothing.
I love the sensory thing about being by the ocean...the sound of the waves, the sea gulls in the background and the smell of salt air, and of course the warmth of the sun on my face.
My ex-husband has psoriasis pretty much all over his body and I remember helping put medication on the places he couldn't reach and/or see. It was a huge job to keep up with... ahh, the things we do for love. His psoriasis is probably why he became a rheumatologist... ever looking for a cure! The sun helped the most I think.
I love your photos of the ocean, I can hear the waves and smell the ocean from here, :D
Hugs for now,
Beth P
Hi Lisa, It's really lovely to see you all enjoy going to the beach and feel the ocean waves crushing on the shore. Thank you so much for visiting my blog posts, and writing your heartfelt comments there! I highly appreciate friendship. Well, it feels interesting to catch up with you, guys again, your kids, family and your world, Lisa. I am sorry to hear that one of your twins got psoriasis. I don´t know much about it. My daughter's husband got psoriasis, and his skin looks pretty bad. They live in New York. Doctors tells him that it's good for his skin to spend time at the beach basking in the sun, and also bathing in the Ocean. Well, I am so glad that you and your dear family spend your vacation at the beach. Was it Virginia Beach? My family went to Virginia Beach about 3 years ago. They loved it there! Blessings, Starry.
