Fall was late this year. I took this picture one morning in mid October. It was the very first morning it felt crisp enough to be fall, following a week of miserable heat and humidity.
The leaves were reluctant to turn because of the heat. So the break in the weather was quite welcome. Now, finally, the boys could wear those long sleeved Halloween shirts.
I hope this is a sign it will be a mild winter.

Mild would be nice, I don't enjoy winter any more, I must be turning into an old reptile. I just need to find a warm rock to sit in the sun on I guess.
...the same thing here!
You guys live in such beautiful surroundings, Lisa!

It was 27 last night for tricksters to be out shopping for candy
It is like this here, too. But of course we live pretty close. I am thinking a mild winter, because of global warming. Have you found Bobby yet? I feel so badly about this. Poor little guy.
This has been the craziest Falls I can remember... Our spring shrubs (Rhododendrons and Azaleas) have been blooming NOW...... We usually finish raking and blowing leaves before Thanksgiving. This year, we'll be doing it in DECEMBER.... Mercy Me...
Great picture.... I love the sun hitting the ground in both early morning and late afternoon.... This weekend we have to change our clocks --and it will be dark about 4:00 here....
Fun Fun...
Hugs,
Betsy
I hope so too, but winter has already taken up too much of our autumn! Halloween was the coldest last night that it has been in 15 years. We've had snow already even this year. That's just not right before Halloween! Your photo is incredibly beautiful!
We have also had a mild October, which pushes back those cold winter months! Love the photo.
We had a warmer fall- though recently there has been more of a snap in the air. I would love a mild winter!

Your view is beautiful. We had some cold weather and now it it turning warmer. Whew...I prefer the change of seasons!
A mild Winter would be nice!
Lovely shot! We still haven't had a hard freeze.
It is a lovely photo! The dog on the right makes it postcard perfect. :)
And yes, here's hoping to a mild winter!
Lisa, the first sentence of your post summed things up down here in North Georgia as well. Right now it's dank but not cold. I am burning a fire in the fireplace, it helps dry out the air and it's cozy. We have good, fall weather and then this humid, warmer air comes back.
My wife pointed out to me that people who came up here and left in Mid October missed the leaf season. We still have a lot of trees changing here, and usually everything is bleak and bare by November.
I feel so badly about this. Poor little guy.

It looks very pretty! We already had snow. But then, it's Finland we're talking about.. :) It did melt though.
This year seasons seems to be a bit haywired. My side is the same too.
Hopefully you'll have a pleasant winter. For us, we love it when it finally cools off enough to turn off the a/c. ;)
They are saying we're having a bad winter in Omaha, but who knows. I hope it's mild.
Our fall colors are a month later than usual. I think it was the hot weather here as well. Now it is lovely--the colors, cool crisp air and warm sunshine!
Yes, I can't believe it's Nov. 10th, and we still have some green trees here in Connecticut. When I was growing up, we used to look forward to the "peak weekend" when all the trees would change color at the same time. In the last three years, there's been no such thing... All the trees seem to change at different times, and some just turn brown and drop their leaves all at once. Crazy!
